Gutters are designed to provide rainwater drainage from your flat roofing system. Because flat roofs are not perfectly flat, that is, they have a pitch between 1:40 and 1:80 (see British Standards BS6229 and BS8217) they facilitate rainwater to run off into adjacent gutters.
Types of gutters
There are a variety of gutter systems available to provide effective drainage for your property. One of the most popular forms is UPVC, a plastic substrate that has exceptional durability and versatility, with a design that blends in to your property. A second type is more specialist. These gutters are created using a glass fibre lining system, which involves moulding and coating concrete or metal channels. The result is a seamless, durable and fully waterproof barrier.
